Mrs. Anna Lorenze’s sixth and seventh grade Reading and Literature students visited the CANDLES Holocaust Museum in Terre Haute after completing the novels Number the Stars and Prisoner B-3087 in class. The trip gave students an opportunity to make meaningful connections to the stories and history they have been studying throughout this unit.

After visiting the museum, students enjoyed lunch before heading back to school for ice cream while watching Miracle at Midnight, a film about the rescue and escape of the Jewish population from Denmark during World War II.

A huge thank you to the Parke County Community Foundation for generously providing a grant that made this field trip possible. The students had a wonderful and memorable day!
