The Parke Heritage Middle School students and staff dove into their favorite books, racking up 211,264 minutes of reading during October and November. The Parke County Public Library sponsored the Book Battle Royale PH vs. RP, which encouraged students to read and record the number of minutes read.
Eighth grader Taylor Snell emerged as the reading champion. Other top readers included Teagan Pound, Katy Faust, Emelia Chapman, Zyriah Wheeler, Aubree Martin, Nora Busenbark, Piper Green, Jaxton Shannon, and Tessa Thompson. As a reward, these avid readers enjoyed a special lunch outing and a shopping time to purchase $20 worth of books!
A shout-out to the eighth graders, who led the pack with a 50,831 minutes read! They received a pizza lunch, courtesy of a grant from the Library.
